           2010/2011 LANCO BOYS TRAVEL LEAGUE RULES

**5th Grade League will now be using smaller 28.5 ball for all games

  • Games are 4 quarters (7 minutes each)
  • OT is 3minutes + 60 second TO + unused TO’s from regulation
  • OT starts with jump ball
  • 5 minute halftime when possible
  • 1 on 1 starts on 7th team foul of half
  • 2 shot “double bonus” starting with 10th team foul of half
  • Player fouls out on 5th personal foul (Tech foul counts as personal & team foul)
  • Any player or coach receiving 2 Technical fouls in game is ejected from game
  • 4 TO’s per game (2-60 second  & 2- 30 second )
  • NO 3 pointers
  • NO 6th grade players may play in division 2
  • 2 refs for each game when possible- each team pays one ref $30
  • If only one ref- each team pays ref $25
  • Teams must play man to man defense in ½ court

                  1st illegal defense- warning

                   Each occurrence after- technical foul on team

  • Pressing: Division 1-4th quarter only, may be man to man or zone press

                            Division 2- Lat 4 minutes of 4th quarter only, must be man to man press

                            Winning team may only press if lead is less than 10 points

  • Mercy rule- if lead is over 20 points in 4th quarter, clock continues to run

                                Clock only stops on FT’s & TO’s

                                If lead goes under 20, clock still continues to run

  • Coaches should review all rules with officials before game

 

Playing Time

  • All players must play 4 minutes

 

 

Sportsmanship

  • Sportsmanship will once again be a point of emphasis for the upcoming season.  The league has told officials to have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to action of coaches, players AND fans.
  • Coaches must stay seated during game.  Officials have been instructed that if a coach stands to question a call, it is an automatic technical foul. 

(Exception would be gyms with no/limited benches-Burgard-Ephrata etc---coaches should discuss this rule with officials before game)

  • Any coach or player ejected from a game is automatically suspended from the teams next game.  Any suspended player or coach may not be in gym during game which he is suspended.

 

Eligibility

  • Players must live in the district of the team they are playing for.
